About the Xiaomi Pad Mini.
Light (326 g) and thin (6.46 mm), Xiaomi´s new compact tablet combines an 8.8´´ 3K screen at 165 Hz with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ 3 nm processor.
Inside, it houses 12 GB LPDDR5X and 512 GB UFS 4.1, as well as a 7.500 mAh battery that supports 67 W HyperCharge.
All of this is supported by HyperOS 2 and the HyperAI package to enhance creative and productive tasks.
Smooth 165 Hz 3K screen.
The 3.008 × 1.880 pixel LCD panel offers 403 ppi, 700 nits of HBM brightness, DCI-P3 coverage, and HDR10/Dolby Vision support.
The frequency adapts up to 165 Hz, which translates into ultra-smooth scrolling and an advantage in games.
3 nm performance with integrated AI.
The Dimensity 9400+ includes Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU and dedicated NPU.
Its centralized architecture improves dissipation and keeps the chassis cool.
7.500 mAh battery with reverse charging.
The dual cell supports 67 W to go from 0% to 58% in 30 min and allows reverse charging at 18 W to power mobiles or headphones.
In typical use, it delivers up to 15.5 hours of video.
Versatile connectivity and ports.
It includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and two USB-C ports:
one with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and DisplayPort 1.4 output, another for accessories in host mode.
Complete sensors and X-axis haptic motor help with productivity and gaming.
Stereo sound and accessories.
Its two Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos certified speakers generate a remarkable stereo field for the size.
The Xiaomi Focus Pen registers 4.096 pressure levels with millisecond latency, while the magnetic stand-cover protects and facilitates writing.
Opinion of our expert.
Compared to the iPad mini 6 (8.3´´/60 Hz, 256 GB max., 500 nits brightness), the Xiaomi offers greater sharpness, triple refresh rate and twice the storage, while maintaining a very similar weight.
If we compare it with the Galaxy Tab A9 (8.7´´, 800 × 1.340 px, 4/8 GB RAM and 5.100 mAh battery), the difference in resolution, memory and fast charging is abysmal.
Compared to the Xiaomi Pad 6 itself, the new format reduces 120 g and adds 165 Hz, Wi-Fi 7 and dual USB-C, although it sacrifices the 11´´ screen.
Its strengths are the value for money, the ultra-smooth 3K panel, and the 67W charging.
