Description
The OPINEL N8 STAINLESS STEEL WALNUT knife is the essential accessory for all lovers of adventure, bivouacs, fishing and hunting. Thanks to its folding blade, you’ll be able to carry it safely and easily anywhere. This intermediate n8 size will suit most people.
The 8.5 cm stainless steel blade is razor-sharp, easy to clean and long-lasting. Its specific Yatagan shape guarantees sturdiness and enables high-performance refinements. The safety ring allows the blade to be locked in either the closed or open position, for optimum safety in both positions. Last but not least, the handle is made of hard-wearing walnut wood, with a brownish-brown, sometimes yellowish or greyish tinge, and often with a dark vein.
This Savoyard classic is a practical, safe and timeless companion in any situation.
- Sandvik’s modified 12C27 stainless steel: this steel, capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness, is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, giving a very satisfactory cutting edge without being susceptible to corrosion.
- Traditional Yatagan blade: Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, with the point raised. The blade is ground to an exclusive bomb profile, guaranteeing robustness and high performance refinements.
- Walnut wood handle: French-farmed, hard and resistant. The handle is varnished for better protection against moisture and dirt.
- Scurit ring: Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted on all closing knives from the N06 upwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. This process locks the blade in the open position (safe to use), as well as in the closed position (safe to transport).
